16/OCT/2011: Release of MRPT 0.9.5 (aka MRPT 1.0.0 RC3)

Dear MRPT users,

I'm glad to let you know about the release today of MRPT 0.9.5, which comes with these important changes:

  • Performance optimizations: dozens of optimizations in point cloud operations, OpenGL rendering, the ICP algorithm, etc.
  • Factorization of graph stuff into two independent libraries: mrpt-graphs, mrpt-graphslam. The idea is to keep those libraries as headers-only as possible in the future.
  • Better doxygen reference documentation (introduction of "modules", etc.)
  • Better support for precompiled Windows releases: there are now specific packages for each architecture and Visual Studio version, with and without libfreenect (Kinect) support. The idea is to allow users to start working on their own projects ASAP without struggling recompiling MRPT for their system configuration.

See the complete list of changes here: http://reference.mrpt.org/0.9.5/changelog.html.

As usual, visit the MRPT download page for the list of available packages. Ubuntu users should be interested in the PPA repositories.

Any (good or bad!) feedback will be welcome in the forums or as an issue report, since it's fundamental to keep MRPT improving with each release.
