I used the file "mrpt-0.9.5-msvc10-x64.exe" to install mrpt on windows 7, 64 bit. In the install process, I selected the radio button "add mrpt to system path for all users", and selected the checkbox "add mrpt icon to desktop".
However, when the install process went to the last stage, an warning dialog showed "path too long and the installed can not add mrpt to path", and also no mrpt icon was added to desktop.
I tried different install directories, and the mrpt path can't be set either.

I think that the "add to the Desktop" feature didn't have any actual effect anyway. Please, check whether MRPT apps have been added to the Start menu.
For setting the PATH, if the installer found any problem, just try doing it manually (google for step-by-step instructions).
